Our Beginner hoop is a great choice if you are just starting out. Whether you want to hoop for fitness or fun, you will get both with this hoop. It is the perfect size and weight to challenge your core. It is also invaluable if you are learning other on-body moves such as shoulder, chest and leg hooping and we continue to use these hoops for performing and teaching!
The approximate weight of the Beginner hoop is between 450g – 500g
Choose either a single or a double spiral of grip tape. A single spiral is sufficient to help the hoop from slipping downwards, but an additional spiral gives extra grip and a more colourful Beginner Hoop.

It’s important to get your hula hoop size and weight right for a successful hooping experience!
As a general rule of thumb, beginners will want a hoop with a diameter measuring at least from the floor to the belly button, but more importantly need a good amount of space around the waist. We have found that a 36" (approx. 95cm) diameter hoop weighing approximately 500g is spot on and standard for most people. Hoops are made for different shaped bodies.
